Prices
All Prices are quoted in Euro's €, Stirling £ or US Dollar $ prices can be quoted upon request at the current exchange rate at the time of booking. All courses are available to individuals and groups, subject to course numbers. For course dates and availability click here Discounts are available for large groups, clubs and University field trips. contact us for details. Accommodation and equipment rental is not included in course price unless stated Where stated Accommodation is Standard Accommodation consisting of 2 persons per room with en-suite bathroom B/B For alternative accommodation click here All prices include certifications, learning materials, tanks and weights, and all required national park permits. Extensions for clients wishing to stay longer can be arranged on booking. All students for non qualified courses and packages must provide their own Mask, Snorkel, Booties, Open foot fins and underwater timing device. For packages including field trips; a light weight sleeping bag is also recommended.

Qualified diver packages
All qualified divers will have to satisfactorily complete the practical and academic Modules 1,2,3. as skill evaluations before proceeding with the following course, and will be charged €30 for the evaluations.

Modular courses
Module 1. Advanced Buoyancy control. 2 day course: From: - €120.00. Deposit: - €30.00. Equipment and tanks included. Ref Number: M01/D. This course improves the divers buoyancy control by implementing breathing control, weight distribution and load handling exercises with an underwater obstacle course. This course was designed to evaluate a divers buoyancy control capabilities and is a pre-requisite for qualified divers starting any Red Sea Research diver program. To go to Booking, click here

Module 2. Navigation and Survey methods. 3 day course: From: - €170.00. Deposit: - €50.00. Equipment and tanks included. Ref Number: M02/D. This module will train the student in the navigation skills relevant to accurately set out and mark an area for topographical and benthic surveying methods and the environmental evaluations, distance estimation and surveying techniques required when conducting a thorough ecological survey.

Module 3. Safety and Rescue techniques. 2day course: From: - €155.00. Deposit: - €45.00. Equipment and tanks included. Ref Number: M03/D. This module will teach the student to work as part of a team by implementing safety protocols to minimise the possible hazards encountered when conducting marine research in the field. The student will be able to practice the practical responses, prevention and environmental evaluation techniques relevant to research diving safety, while training in the Red Sea Research rescue scenarios. Module 4. Introduction to Tropical Ecology. 1 day course: From: - €65.00. Deposit: - €15.00. Ref Number: M04/D. This module will instruct the student in the laws and regulations applicable to environmental research legislation globally and in the red sea. The course includes discussions on the habitats and ecologies of mammals, corals ,fish and mangroves predominant in the Red sea, and the conditions in which they thrive or decline. Module 5. Knots, Splicing and Slinging. 1 day course: From: - €60.00. Deposit: - €15.00. Ref Number: M05/D. A diver involved in any marine research activity, must be able to tie knots quickly and securely, join damaged or snapped lines and sling an object for lifting whenever the need arises. This course will teach a student the most common knots, splices, and slinging methods relevant to marine research. (This module is mandatory with module 6) To go to Booking, click here

Module 6. Lift-bag techniques. 3 day course: From: - €295.00. Deposit: €100.00. Ref Number: M06/D. Lift-bags are useful in controlling the descents of heavy tools being lowered, and for moving equipment or debris too heavy to manhandle to different locations. This course will train the student in the safety, planning, and practical applications of using lift-bags in shallow water (20m) and the methods relevant to coastal marine surveying. Module 7. Topographical Surveying Techniques. 4 day course: From: - €275.00. Deposit: - €90.00. Ref Number: M07/D. In this module the student will learn how to make the accurate topographical maps which are essential in any type of marine survey. An accurate Underwater map allows surveyors to see the topographical featuresof a potential research site, to locate and mark suitable entry and exit points, assist in underwater navigation, and planning survey schedules. Module 8. Benthic and Bathymetric surveying Techniques. 4 day course: From: - €295.00. Deposit: - €100.00. Ref Number: M08/D. The marine surveying methods taught at RSResearch are of the required standard needed to collect baseline data and can be expanded on to suit specific research criteria. Data collected and catalogued using these methods provide reliable information on the current status of a survey site, and allows comparisons over regional and global scales, influencing future research projects.
