Pipe Removal – The Islands Dive Site, Dahab

Two large pipes appeared on the corals at the beautiful Islands dive site, located south of Dahab. Due to their location it is suspected they came off the back of a passing cargo boat. Students who had recently passed their research diver course, made good use of their newly acquired lift bag skills to assist RED SEA RESEARCH instructor, Jonty, to lift and remove the pipes onto the sandy bottom at the back of the reef, therefore preventing any further damage to the reef. Plans are under way to remove the pipes from the location completely.
