Pre-requisites:
All divers must be able to dive to 20m (Advanced open water certified or equivalent), with a minimum of 20 logged dives. Minimum age: 16
For non-divers: We can also teach PADI open water and Advanced open water courses plus extra dives to reach the required pre-requisite level prior to starting the Advanced Eco Diver course, this would require a minimum of 14 days before the course start date.
Supplement: -590.00 Euros includes PADI open water and advanced courses, equipment plus 10 dives.
The Course
The Advanced Eco Diver course includes an introduction to underwater topographical surveying methods, as well as multiple benthic surveying methodology. You will learn the terminology and basic techniques required to allow you to assist in preliminary marine surveys. The Red Sea Research Advanced Eco Diver course will provide you with skills in tropical marine survey techniques and improve your diving skills, to the standard required by marine biological research organisations.
This course includes sessions in advance buoyancy control using our specially designed obstical course, navigation, self rescue and safety directed towards research diving, topographical surveying techniques and an introduction to tropical marine ecology including species identification and benthic surveying techniques. You will also learn safety, planning, and practical applications of using lift-bags in shallow water (20m) and the methods relevant to coastal marine surveying. One day boat trip included.
